What Chessharborz Does, in Plain Terms
Chessharborz is a boutique real estate agency based in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. We help individuals, families, and investors buy, sell, rent, and assess property across Rio's Zona Sul and Barra da Tijuca. Our work covers four distinct service lines — property sales, residential rentals, independent market valuations, and strategic consulting — and we run all of them in-house with a core team of six experienced advisers. We've been operating since 2016 and have completed more than 340 transactions in that time. Our clients include Brazilians returning from abroad, international buyers unfamiliar with local market dynamics, local families upsizing or downsizing, and investors building or rebalancing a residential portfolio. What links them is an expectation that the person advising them actually knows Rio — the street-by-street pricing differences, which buildings have ongoing maintenance issues, where demand is outpacing supply, and where it isn't. That local knowledge, updated constantly, is the core of what we sell.
How We Work — and What We Don't Do
Every Chessharborz client is assigned a named senior adviser who stays with them for the full duration of the engagement — whether that's a two-week rental search or a six-month sale campaign. We don't handoff mid-process, and we don't deploy junior staff for viewings or negotiations. Our approach is methodical: we document what a client needs before we start showing them anything, we provide written summaries after every significant milestone, and we're direct about situations where we think a client's expectations need recalibrating. We also know what we don't do. We don't handle commercial or industrial property. We don't operate outside Rio de Janeiro. We don't manage holiday lets or Airbnb-style short-term rentals. We don't act as a legal firm and we don't provide structural surveys. Where those services are needed, we refer clients to specialists we trust — but we stay within our lane. An agency that does everything usually does nothing particularly well. We've chosen a narrower scope precisely so we can do that scope properly.
